Some of you may notice that a lot of my previous posts have disappeared. Yes, I deleted them…by accident. What a numpty. I could have kicked myself last Friday. Luckily, I save all my posts down in a word document so technically I can re-post them and the plan was to do so last weekend, but I didn’t have the strength to sit for hours over my work-free weekend and re-post them all. So gradually you will see familiar posts start to re-appear.
Last week we lost a great film and fashion icon – Elizabeth Taylor. And in fitting memory of Liz, the queen of the full eye-brows, I thought I would take a look at how to get that perfect eye-brow shape.
The Sun newspaper ran a feature last week giving you the basic tips on how to draw and create your perfect brows, but I find pencils and other gadgets tend to be a bit too dark for my pale complexion so I stick to what I know – eye shadow. I use the smallest bit of eye shadow to get my perfect eye brow colour. If you find you’ve put a bit too much on and don’t want to look like Debbie Dingle from Emmerdale, then you can easily remove it with a cotton bud. It’s easy peasy.

I usually get my eyebrows waxed from the little boutique along the road from my house. However with House of Frasers expanding their eyebrow bars, I was invited along to try threading at the Benito Brow Bar, Glasgow.
I was greeted at the door by a lovely young woman, who took me around to their department and sat me down. I’ve never had this done before, but I can honestly say it’s such a weird feeling! It feels like getting a tattoo on your face (never had one on my face but this is how I imagine it to be). It wasn’t painful, just that weird sensation that makes you giggle at every niggly bit.

During the threading, I was told to hold above my brow and my eyelid to help the woman get the perfect shape. I would say it took no longer than fifteen minutes and left me with a great razor sharp clean cut shape. They looked great. I’ve often seen girls getting their brows threaded inside a shopping centre for all to see, I couldn’t do that with everyone looking at me; the Benito Brow Bar is the perfect place to go and get them done…it’s quiet and doesn’t have a lot of flowing traffic through that part of the store. Like with the waxing, I was still left looking like someone had slapped me silly, and getting on the train home I couldn’t help but think – I should have driven to work today!
The Benito Brow Bar was previously in Frasers, but shut down and is now back after such a high demand and it’s great to see it back. Before I left I was given a loyalty card by the girl who did my threading. It allows you to get a free treatment after you’ve had a good few done. The threading at the Benito Bar costs £13 and it doesn’t stop there - they also do eyelash extensions and offer a WOW Package of threading and their award-winning Benito Wow lashes with their Dramatic costing £45 and their Natural costing £65. For more information visit www.benitobrowbar.com. All in all I think I will be back in a few weeks’ time to get them re-done at Benito. Success.
I’ve got the baking bug. It’s official. So far I’ve only made a few cakes and some biscuits, but I keep looking up different things and going “I could make that.” For Derek’s Birthday (the other half’s bro) I made a peanut butter birthday cake with chocolate icing on top. It was brilliant and went down a right treat. For the other half’s Uncle Mark I made your basic sponge cake with jam and icing for his birthday the following evening, and that too was devoured.
Twice I’ve made peanut butter biscuits and they’ve both been eaten in quick time. I’ve got so many things that I want to cook, that I fear I might go up a few dress sizes before my holiday in August!

Blondie was in the news this week slating off X Factor, and what can I say? Debbie Harry used to be a sex bomb when she was younger - but now, she’s kinda letting herself go or isn’t dressing for her age.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Debbie but recent pictures of her haven’t done her justice. Maybe my opinion will change when I finally get to see the band at T in the Park this summer.
Kim Kardashian better watch out, younger half-sister Kendall Jenner is hot on her heels for becoming one of the world’s biggest models. Every single one of the Kardashian and Jenner sisters are stunning and can make the dullest outfit look super sexy. Jealous much?!!
The 15-year-old, who has modeled for Forever 21 and Luca Couture, has been adding to her expanding portfolio, modeling prom dresses for designer Sherri Hill. Kim Kardashian took to her blog to talk about the shots, saying: 'I can’t believe how stunning Kendall looks in her final shots for Sherri Hill prom dresses! These pictures are so gorgeous!' Kendall is fast establishing herself as a top American teen model.
Everyone knows about my addiction to nail varnishes and it was fuelled this week by the Models Own Nail Art Pens. I received a black and a white one in the post and that was me, on the computer for ages searching for ideas to scribble onto my nails. Models Own have once again joined forces with London nail salon WAH to create a collection of nail art pens available for the average Joe. Who needs to go get your nails done and fork out a small fortune when you can do it yourself? Credit crunch funky nails here we come!
I opted for something that I’ve seen on a few people – the animal print look. My first attempt was very shaky and didn’t look so good but my second attempt with different colours was a lot better. I found some images online of what it should look like. Practice makes perfect and all that, so hopefully if I keep it up in time I will get better.
The pen, which costs £6, has two different ends to it one being a really small pen like nib that gives you fine lines - great for doing intricate art work - and the other end is a brush, great for doing nice striped lines.
On Monday I went to see The Script and do the live review of the band. I was totally taken a back at just how many people were there to see them. I knew it was sold out but I am that used to seeing the SECC half empty these days it came as a shock. The Script boys took a picture of the Glasgow crowd and posted it on their Twitter take a look:
Peace.
